Utilizing Solidworks© (3D software), the AMS Engineering team meticulously crafted the inlet and outlets of the downpipe, optimizing exhaust flow with smooth features and geometry. A 3D-printed prototype ensured OEM-level fitment before casting the final product. Unlike competitors, the AMS VW MKVII Golf R Downpipe includes a laser-cut, form-fitted heat shield to safeguard critical components near the downpipe, such as the ABS module. Featuring a 4mm thick cast stainless steel upper section, these downpipes effectively retain heat, enhancing engine bay temperature control. Casting them in robust 304 stainless steel allowed for design flexibility not achievable with hand-fabricated construction.
