The Cusco Type-RS LSD offers a more consistent and evenly spread initial lock setting across friction plates compared to traditional limited-slip differential systems. Its inner-coil spring design enables a reduction in the initial lock on friction plates while maintaining a similar response level to traditional LSDs. These springs ensure uniform contact between friction plates, extending their lifespan and preventing surface deformation.

In the RS Type design, chattering of plates is minimized by maintaining consistent pressure across the radius of the friction plates. Additionally, the oil-through design facilitates positive pressurized flow of the differential gear oil throughout all parts of the system, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
