More Info:
Bluestuff represents an entry-level option for track and race pads, exhibiting commendable street manners while being R90 approved for street driving. It offers two compounds: NDX with a higher friction coefficient of 0.52 Mu and the new Bluestuff B with a lower 0.42 Mu.

Despite lacking R90 homologation, Bluestuff's outstanding cold friction and controllability have made it a favorite among performance road car drivers in the USA and Asia. Recently, some EU fitments have gained R90 approval after extensive road-focused testing, making Bluestuff the first truly track-focused pad legal for public roads in Europe.

For customers familiar with EBC's Yellowstuff material, Bluestuff offers a similar friction profile but with a higher coefficient across a broader range, akin to the energizing effect of a double espresso. Moreover, Bluestuff boasts faster bed-in times and superb pedal modulation, enhancing its appeal for track use with enhanced fade resistance.

EBC's track and race materials are notably gentle on brake discs, particularly beneficial for modern performance cars with costly 2-piece brake disc systems. Compared to granite-like semi-metallic pads, EBC's track and race pads are reported to be gentler on brake discs, avoiding premature wear and tear.

EBC Bluestuff Bed-in Procedure:
For optimal performance during fast street use, follow these steps:

1. Pre-Bed Fade 1: Drive 50 to 100 miles on public roads, engaging in normal driving conditions to allow the pads to mate with the disc fully. Then, perform 8 stops from 80 mph to 30 mph at 300-yard intervals, followed by coasting to allow the brakes to cool.

2. Perform the Street Pre-Bed Fade 1 routine as described above, either on the road or at the track if installed there. Follow this with **Fade 2** at the race track.

3. The latest Bluestuff DM3362 and Low Mu versions should only require Fade 2 and a 15-minute cooling time to be race-ready.

4. Fade 3: should not be necessary unless poor disc condition has prevented proper seating, but if time permits, it's advisable to perform Fade 3.

If this process seems complex, we understand. However, all organic pads, regardless of the brand, require bedding in to prevent brake loss. Rotor condition plays a significant role, as even the slightest imperfection on the rotor surface can significantly extend the bed-in times. Therefore, accuracy in following these steps is crucial for optimal brake performance.
