Z1 Q50 / Q60 3.0t Cold Air Intake System

Introducing the all-new Z1 cold air intake for the Infiniti Q50 Sedan and Q60 Coupe, an effortless performance upgrade designed for easy installation and offering a significant increase in flow over stock, resulting in improved power and response.

One of the most effective methods to enhance the output of turbocharged engines is by removing any restrictions for air entering the turbo. This action reduces the pressure ratio across the turbo’s compressor and decreases the required turbo speed to achieve the desired airflow. Consequently, the turbocharger operates more efficiently, delivering cooler and denser air to the engine. In the case of your Infiniti 3.0t (VR30), powered by two Garrett turbochargers, air is drawn through ducting above the core support, passes through the air filter, and is directed to the turbo inlet, where it's converted into BOOST! While the factory intake system is designed to be cost-effective and provide just enough airflow for stock performance, the Z1 Intake System eliminates the restrictions of the factory panel filters, improving the air path between the core support and turbo inlet and resulting in a substantial increase in airflow to support higher horsepower applications.

The initial step in enhancing the air path involves replacing the stock corrugated rubber intake piping with a smooth multi-ply silicone hose, reducing intake turbulence and enhancing airflow. The Z1 air intake system features two specially engineered air filters designed exclusively for the Nissan 3.0t engine. These filters utilize a high-density media capable of capturing most particulates while providing exceptional airflow. Inside the filter, a velocity stack has been integrated into the base to optimize airflow and increase air velocity. To house these large-media filters, we developed a sealed airbox available in either plastic (standard) or carbon fiber! Unlike some manufacturers who use a blend of fiberglass and carbon fiber, Z1 3.0t Intakes are manufactured from 100% carbon fiber! The sealed boxes effectively keep hot air out of the engine bay, allowing only cool air ducted from the OEM intake cowl to enter the intake.
