VRX70B Ball Bearing Turbochargers represent the latest advancement in Z1's VRX turbo lineup for the Infiniti Q50 and Q60. These turbochargers closely resemble the original VRX70 Turbochargers but utilize ball-bearing CHRA's to enhance spool time and response.

Crafted with precision engineering, these turbochargers deliver exceptional power gains, responsive performance, and an exhilarating driving experience. They feature a 100% new turbo assembly, with no parts recycled from the original turbo frame or cartridge, eliminating the need for a core charge or return and making them a cost-effective upgrade option. Equipped with a high-efficiency billet compressor wheel, advanced turbine blade design, and a larger .70 A/R turbine housing, they significantly increase airflow, supporting over 700 horsepower with suitable fuel systems and modifications. Not only do they provide impressive performance enhancements, but they're also built to last, featuring high-quality construction with durable materials to withstand demanding driving conditions.

The Z1 VRX70 Turbochargers are a direct bolt-on upgrade, inclusive of all necessary components such as new oil and water lines, gaskets, and hardware.

Why larger turbos?

As you read through, you probably found yourself thinking, "Obviously, I want more power," but what if we told you there's more to gain from larger turbos than just horsepower?

The stock turbos on your VR30 are minuscule. We're talking "they look like they belong on a Honda Fit" small. While this is great for engine response, it means they struggle at higher RPMs, especially with increased boost from a tune. A boosted Q50 feels responsive and quick, but once you surpass peak power in the rev range, they start to wheeze and lose power rapidly. Why? Because the stock housings can't flow enough air to keep up with the engine's demands. Tuners often compensate by cranking up the boost, but that just leads to excessive pressure before the turbo, raising temperatures and increasing the risk of detonation. This is where upgraded turbos come into play: larger turbos flow more air with less restriction.

Enter Z1's VRX70 Turbos with their .70 A/R turbine housing, offering a significant boost in flow compared to the stock .53 A/R housings. This means they're more efficient at generating power and require less boost pressure for the same output. Lower boost levels also mean reduced turbine speeds, making it easier to manage the heat produced by the turbos. More importantly, it helps the engine churn out more horsepower towards the peak of the rev range, where sports cars are meant to shine. To tackle boost creep, we've maximized the wastegate port's available surface area by designing a unique port shape. In this iteration of our VRX Turbo, we've opted to utilize ceramic ball bearing CHRA's to further enhance response and reduce spool time.

Installation Note: The VRX70 reuses your Q's existing wastegate actuator and speed sensor (on Red Sport applications) and must be configured properly when installed. Please understand this is a critical process, and failure to install and adjust the wastegate actuator properly will result in issues when operating and tuning the car. For this reason, we recommend these turbos be installed by a competent and reputable performance shop.

When at this level of performance, we highly recommend installing blow-off valves to handle boost relief. If you're not intending to install blow-off valves, we suggest speaking with your tuner first.
